Algemene beschrijving
- Betaalbare starters zijn gebouwd met lagers met een langere levensduur dan OEM-starters
- Veel OEM-starters hebben een onbeschermd uitgangsnaaldlager aan de buitenkant van de afdichting van de uitgaande as. Vocht kan het uitgangsdeksel van de elektromotor binnendringen en de ankeras volgen naar het onbeschermde uitgangsnaaldlager, waardoor het corrodeert.
- Rick's heeft de extra stap genomen om een dubbel afgedicht kogellager te installeren in zijn nieuwe aftermarket unit, met de afdichting van de uitgaande as aan de buitenkant van het lager.
- Deze eenvoudige toepassing van gezond verstand zorgt voor twee dingen: ten eerste is het buitenste lager nu beschermd tegen het binnendringen van schadelijk water en ten tweede is het afgedichte kogellager vervangbaar.
